How to improve your reading skills

There’s a flood of information which grows rapidly and which is even pushed by multi-media, blogging and so on.

Reading is a must-have and a must-select and a must-think-about and a must-to-decide by yourself.

Reading is one thing and finding your own position and to decide what it’s all about and where you have to go is the other thing. If you want to improve your competence of reading, just have a look:

  • Read across the curriculum
  • Use a variety of reading-materials from different sources
  • Stock school and classroom libraries
  • Plan field-trips
  • Organize community service and other activities
  • Improving your knowledge base is essential, so don’t give up and keep your courage and of course your passion to read
  • And don’t forget speed-reading does not help, it even spoils your competence.

China and the relevance of money for the people instead of relating to one another

Tonight you can see a documentary film about suicide in China, which is really worth looking. It is made by the Chinese Lola Jia Liu and shows how Chen Si saves the life of hundreds of people who try to commit suicide on the bridge of Nanjing. She paints very clear and sensible portraits without making any comment. The people just talk about themselves. This is really astonishing and overwhelming.

Jia Liu points out that suicide is a social problem not mearly a psychic problem. She also …………..

More about selfie and self trust

A lot is said about selfies, about making selfies and the function of selfies. Here is another aspect. A selfie serves to more deeply entrench the sexual objectification of women and girls and that one looses the control of the self-image once it’s shared online.

Others criticize the apparent narcissism aspect.

One could also say and here we have new sociological research being done that making a selfie also is some kind of democratic nature because it holds liberatory potential. Those, who are not well presented in media obviously like to make selfies because it has a value for them. The value of being represented in media.

Because those who feel more self trust are more easily present in media.

Chinese language is body-language – interrupting communication- (4)

Volker once told me about this specific difficulty when filming in China. He remembered the time when he did a documentation film on psychotherapy in China. There were many people who sat in the room, his camera “pointed” to a person, standing, who talked about an experience. After some time this person stopped talking, so that Volker after some time tried to focus on another person, who was moving a little or, as it seemed to be, was probably the next to talk about his experience. Doing this  led to the point of missing an important moment. The Chinese who had talked and stopped talking suddenly went on talking, went on talking in a way as if he had not interrupted his presented experience. And it was important what he talked about.

In Germany or probably in other Western countries we get a feeling of ………………..
