Where we like to be touched, and where we don’t

The closer the person in social relationship, the larger the body area this person is allowed to touch. The bodily maps of touch were similar in all five cultures studied. Social touching thus seems to be a biologically determined and evolutionarily developed way to form social relationships. The results were recently published in Proceedings of the National Academy.

It is really worth looking into the recent study conducted by Aalto University and the University of Oxford. It shows that the human body has a precisely defined touch maps that are tightly linked to social touch that is allowed in different kinds of human relationships. It is also said that this is relevant to many or even all cultures.

Stock market crash or when money kills you

The stock market in China is eroding. People loose ever so much money in ever such a short period of time.

Nearly a quarter of investors say that the value of their investments has fallen by more than 50 percent since the beginning of the year amid falling stock prices. 23.8 percent of the 42,000 people polled by sina said that they “had suffered a loss of over 50 percent and dare not check their accounts”.

Investors and bankers feared already since some months that this would happen soon in China. It is a stock bubble which seems to explode.

Growing lovesickness in Europe and China

More and more young people, around the age of 27 to 35 moan about lovesickness. Of course everybody knows that this feeling is a part of life. But it is also part of life that after some time of moaning people find a new partner with whom they relate.

The fact I talk about is relevant in so far as more and more of those people also complain about the shortness of their relationships. This means a love relationship lasts not so long as it did before. The people in Germany therefore already talk about “Generation lovesickness”.

Of course there are many reasons for this development in society and yet one can say that the speed, fragmentation and the essential change of the work is one main reason for that. People live in a spiral of always getting faster, higher, richer and so on. There is no ……..
