Bound feet

The feet of little girls had been bound to improve their beauty.

In old China there was a century long tradition on this. Forbidden in 1912 it did not put an and to this behavior.

The mothers of the girls had endured foot-binding as well and knew what pain and torment they were putting their own child through. But they knew, to make their daughter acceptable to society, to give their daughters the best possible life, this is something they had to do, however heartbreaking it was. We all want to be accepted, we all want to be loved, we want our children to have the best possible opportunities.

A cruel way of manipulating and dominating women`s body language. You can read more about the interviews with some old Chinese women, who had endured this experience until nowadays. Impressing foto documents show the women`s beauty and the abused feet. The women`s faces and the described behavior are a convincing message on their own.

Self-optimizing surgery

In South-Corea, and not only there, a booming plastic-surgery-industry is to be found. More than twenty percent of the women had picked up the chance to change their bodily, facial expression by this surgery.

In comparison to this, only five percent of the women in the US do this.

Millions of South-Corean people watched the film “Two hundred pounds”. The main protagonist changes her appearance by plastic-surgery. So one could say one main aspect which characterizes the Corean popculture is the whish of self-optimizing. More and more young women want to look like the dancers of the popstar Psy or Kim Tae-Hee. Her face very often is the model for an operation.

So if looking at these women after surgery which person are you aware of? In whose eyes do you look? How does it feel do look into your friend`s eyes and realize the facial expression of some Popstar? Is it yours? that of your friend? Whom are you Aware of? And how do you feel with this Person?

Is there a difference between you and me? (An embodyed story -7-)

of course I could relax besides this young lady. I felt quite comfortable lying there when my attention always moved back to these faces. We don`t want you to become important by ………

Being caught at first sight (an embodyed story part 3)

The mystery of these hands, which I showed you some days ago caught me like an eye catcher. Passing this little window in a tiny side street of Rome old and odd faces did not look at me but somewhere in the air. Though without really realizing it, I could not pass without being caught. Lifeless faces, as it seemed to be, but with a (hidden) story about life.
I became curious and looked into the shop.

Maybe this is a good start to be aware of  “body”, of a possible bodily expression. It is a good start because ………….
